How to sell your Amazon products on Shopify

A guest article by the ByteStand team. ByteStand app syncs your inventory from Amazon to Shopify. It simplifies the process by auto-magically pulling your inventory directly into your Shopify admin section.

Paging through the Amazon forums, you will see countless stories of sellers getting booted from Amazon for various and sundry reasons. Many that the shop owner was unaware of, or didn't think applied to them. For these reasons alone, a prudent seller on Amazon needs to diversify their sales channels, and Shopify is a perfect choice!

Making the choice to diversify is easy, but actually diversifying can be difficult if you don't have the right tools for the job. How in the world are you going to move your 659 SKUs from Amazon? Images, descriptions, inventory, all the goodies you need to create a beautiful listing. And how long is this process going to take? If you create your listings by hand we've figured it's about 10 - 15 minutes per listing. Multiple that by the number of SKUs you have and booyah, you got it, it's going to be a long, painful process banging away in front of your computer. No one's idea of a fun Friday night.

What about fulfillment once you have those products setup? Making sure you don't sell things you don't have, and making sure you're selling everything that you can. Obviously, the level of complexity rises substantially when taking on another sales channel. Here is a laundry list of things you'll need to consider when diversifying your sales channel away from solely Amazon and bringing on Shopify.

  • Look & Feel - Will you purchase a ready-made theme or get one custom designed? Shopify also has a multitude of free themes that can get you moving quickly at a price that can't be beaten.
  • Inventory - Once you've decided the look and feel of your store, how are you going to create your listings? Where are you going to get high-resolution images? Descriptions? Is your theme dependent on tags, categories, vendors or another factor?

  • Search& Filters - Search is often an overlooked feature within your store that is super critical to your success. If your customers cannot find what they want there is no way they'll be able to buy it. Another great feature within your store is the ability to filter and sort your product offerings. Make sure that your theme supports whichever direction you choose.
  • Fulfillment & Inventory Maintenance - Once those orders do start coming in, how will you fulfill your orders and just as importantly ensure that you have the inventory on hand. And if you are based outside of the US what fulfillment options do you have?

Your store is live, you have all your listings gorgeously arranged, just waiting to jump off your virtual shelf, and onto a customer's front porch. Your sales start pouring in, but your excitement is muted when you realize, how in the world am I going to get my stuff from where it is now, to where it needs to go?

Thankfully, there are Shopify apps that handle all of your Amazon FBA fulfillment headaches for you. ByteStand is one perfect solution, regardless if you're inside or outside the US. It offers free shipping, discounted shipping, shipping price equal to your FBA fulfillment costs.

Selling from one platform to another is not an easy job, but if you have all the resources and right tools to help you out, you can still expect it to be smooth sailing.
